Soraya and Hazim… Enjoy going to the playground

Soraya is an eight-year-old girl, who likes playing in the park, riding her bike and playing with playdough. Her seven-year-old brother, Hazim, loves dinosaurs, Julia Donaldson books and going on the slide at the park.
Soraya and Hazim needs carers who can be consistent, with boundaries that help them understand and navigate the world safely. They need regular mealtimes and bedtimes and encouragement to eat and drink. Soraya and Hazim also need carers who will play with them and offer them their time and attention, enabling them to explore the world safely.
Soraya needs encouragement to attend school, support to develop healthy relationships, and space to talk and opportunities where she can build her confidence and self-esteem.
Hazim is a bundle of energy and enjoys being active. He needs carers who are kind, caring and patient – ideally with an understanding of trauma and neurodiversity and how these impact his presentation and wellbeing. Hazim does not regularly attend school, and can be unpredictable in the community, so carers will need to be vigilant to help him explore the world safely.
Soraya and Hazim have dual British and Algerian nationality. Dad is Muslim, but the children do not attend mosque, so will need help to understand their family’s cultures and beliefs.
